Partridge India Author| Dr. Megha Agrawal, Author of Hallow

Aug 10

It is Partridge India’s great pleasure to introduce Dr. Megha Agrawal, the author of Hallow.

1. Please briefly describe your book.

Hello friends! In a contemporary world that is quite conflicted in its ideology, Hallow is my first, unique attempt at understanding life’s elusiveness through lively strokes and lucid verses. It’s a poetic palette- a blend of art, prose and poetry; stirred with spirituality. The narrative tangles up subtle sensibilities and raw imagination to honor life as a dynamic extension of the divine and celebrates sanctity of creation as a whole. Living is an enriching experience… Shouldn’t we then, rather enjoy the flow (and the flaws) with a positive frame of mind, while we are at it? In short, Hallow is an idea that has existed forever… but, it is an ethos that humanity is yet to follow.

2. Who is the author behind the book?

Dr Megha AgrawalWell, I’m a doctor, an alumna of Armed Forces Medical College Pune. I am currently pursuing Post Graduation in Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute. Creative writing, art, research and dreaming have always been my hobbies and I am glad I could weave them all together in this one book.

3. Which influences have inspired you, with regard to your writings style and book itself?

I feel everything I have come across has influenced me in a certain way. At times the tiniest of detail has been of tremendous significance to me. I am inspired by beauty, courage and compassion. Experience- I feel, is the best teacher and change is the only constant… And that reflects in my writing.

4. What is the one message you would like to convey to your readers about your book?

Ideas can make a huge difference in the way we perceive the World. I hope you join me in the ecstatic experience that life has to offer and have the time of your life!

5. Are you working on a sequel to your book?

It took me some years to pen down (and paint) all these ideas and pin them together. A sequel doesn’t feel necessary as of now. But I wish to experiment with different genres in the future; as and when good ideas strike me.

6. Are there any events, marketing ideas or promotions planned for your book?

Honestly, as a newbie who is innately shy and unsure, I find promotion- the most essential and daunting task of the whole publishing process. I am still finding ways to reach out to a larger readership with whatever time and resources I have as a student. Thank you Partridge for giving me this fantastic platform to introduce my work.

7. What was your favorite part of your publishing experience?

Oh, I enjoyed every step- the best being the reviews and satisfaction of a work well done. The second best moment was holding the book in my hands for the first time. It felt surreal, like holding a baby in the arms after all the wait.

8. What do you think of your Partridge experience?

Partridge made the whole journey very exciting by pumping a lot of enthusiasm from their end. The book looks amazing, well beyond my expectation. Friendly advices poured in whenever I needed them. Everything was very systematically done. I am truly grateful to each and every member of this huge team for helping in making of this book (directly or indirectly). Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better beginning.

9. Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring authors?

All I’d say is: Enjoy. It may take tremendous guts and patience to bare one’s soul on paper. But the risk is so worth it. Creativity is great fun and rewarding as such. Be original, express with all your honesty and just go with the flow. Words hold a lot of power and can truly create magic. True victory of writing lies in how greatly your thoughts influence people. Best wishes to all the budding writers… Cheers!
