Partridge India Author| Dr. P.C. Sharma, GHOSTMEN Pt. 2
Partridge India returns with Dr. P.C. Sharma, author of GHOSTMEN: the Journey of Your Dreams.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR (continued)
Destiny perhaps governed my life, on the principle of ‘Rolling stones gather no moss, but shine’. This could be the reason that I, from a remote village, unable to go for formal education up to ten years of age, finally made a career in the field of academia, earning a master’s in geography from Gorakhpur University, master’s in education from Shimla, and PhD in Geography from Meerut University.
Having lost father only as an infant, I charted my own course in life. My career as a teacher and an administrator spans over three decades, in various parts of India. Having started as a teacher in various reputed schools, I have also rendered service in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, and Rashtriya Military School (RMS), Chail (Himachal Pradesh). After serving as principal of two Kendriya Vidyalayas at Sambalpur and Pachmarhi for nearly twelve years, I retired from the post of education officer at KVS Headquarters, New Delhi. In my post-retirement phase, I had been administrative officer at Bharat Scouts and Guides National Headquarters and country coordinator of HAPI (Healthy Adolescent Project in India), a sex education project of the Family Health International (USA), implemented by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (London), through B S&G NHQ (New Delhi) in ten districts, mainly suburbs and tribes of West Bengal, including Darjeeling.
With this rich experience and passion for geography, literature, philosophy, metaphysics—natural and super-naturals, what else could be better for me than writing? And I took to it. I am settled at Greater Noida with my family.
Which influences have inspired you, with regard to your writing style and your book itself?
There is no any particular author inspiring or influencing me or my story as my purpose of writing was different and specific. And I wrote it in my simple language. I also think that others influence affect our originality. Our own experiences and surrounding is our best guide and theme provider.
What is the one message you would like to convey to your readers about your book?
Dear readers, share experiences with others. Our interest in reading takes us closer to people of our taste from various parts of the world, and even to scholars of gone away past. Before taking up any significant work, we need to know, ‘what others think and know about it? This is a good pass time giving us knowledge and confidence. And we do not require any fellow in reading, like game –partners. So carry on with reading and stay happy.
Are there any events, marketing ideas or promotions planned for your book?
No, I do not have any event, marketing or promotional plan for my book.
What was your favourite part of your publishing experience?
What did you think of your Partridge experience?
A good, pleasing and richly learning experience. All are committed sincere and dependable.
Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Dear aspiring authors, every one keen for sharing experiences with others through writing, can be an author. These days, house maids, criminals from jails, and others from odd jobs are writing. So, why hesitation? Why can’t you? You can surely do it. Just get on writing. Be imaginative, do some relevant research, frame out-line of your duly thought-out work, fill-in its details. And proceed from your one goal to another till you reach the final goal where success is waiting for you. Know it well that even the longest journeys had beginning with first step. God will help you. Best wishes.
