Partridge India introduces Pradeep Raj, author of The Heart Vendor- Poems of Love, Bliss, and Chaos.

Please briefly describe your book.

The Heart Vendor – Poems of Love, Bliss and Chaos is a compilation of poetic expressions of bliss and chaos in the life of a man who has found and lost love. It captures an intense emotional journey, from the romantic moments of togetherness, through painful loneliness, to hopes of redemption and liberation.

Each poem in this book is complimented by an image that reflects the core of the corresponding poem.

Who is the author “behind” the book?

Partridge India Author| Pradeep Raj, The Heart VendorI’m an Information Technology Program Manager and Business Analyst by profession. I’m a passionate soul and I love rain, sea shore and exploring the world. I have been writing poems since the age of 12. My poems primarily revolve around love, relationships, life and motivation. I also love to draw and some of my proudest moments as a child have been when my drawings adorned the classrooms of my school.

Which influences have inspired you, with regard to your writing style and your book itself?

Love is the inspiration.

Love is an endless journey.

A journey many go through by sailing along the wind, and some risk their all against the wind.

Love can bring the best and the worst in us.

Through this book, I want to celebrate true love, heal broken hearts and provide motivation to lead a life with meaningful purpose. Many times, expressing our emotions without holding them within us allows us to feel better.

This book has poems that can provide a medium to express sorrow, understand life and live life with a positive outlook.

I believe in keeping the writing simple.

What is the one message you would like to convey to your readers about your book?

Partridge India Author| Pradeep Raj, The Heart VendorThe poems in my book are deeper than they appear at first reading.  Some of them have an interesting pattern that a casual reader may not be able to notice at first glance. I encourage readers to explore each poem and dive deeper to connect with the theme.

Are you working on a sequel to your book?

I’m working on the next series of The Heart Vendor which will also be a collection of poems that celebrates love and life.

Are there any events, marketing ideas or promotions planned for your book?

I have realized that both publishing as well as marketing a book is lot of hard work. Readers have plenty of choices. It is important for the author and publisher to provide visibility of their books so a good work can be shared with more and more people.

I’m leveraging social media extensively. I regularly share excerpts from my book on my Facebook and Twitter pages. I also have a YouTube channel. I encourage readers to connect with me on these social media platforms.  Like and subscribe to my content for an insightful engagement with me.

Readers can connect with me on YouTube at, Facebook at, and on Twitter at

I’m currently running a Goodreads Giveaways event from Feb 18 to Feb 28, 2017. Readers are welcome to follow me on Goodreads, add my book to their “to read” list and enter the giveaway for a chance to win one of the five paperback copies signed by me.

What was your favourite part of your publishing experience?

My favourite part was learning some of the intricacies of publishing and marketing.

What did you think of your Partridge experience?

I’m very quality conscious and I have clear vision about what I want from my book.

I have learnt that the author has to be completely prepared with all aspects of the book, to ensure the final book is of great quality in terms of content and presentation.

I had a good experience with Partridge’s marketing team.

Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring authors?

For the aspiring authors, my suggestion is to have a vision for your book. Do not look at it from the perspective of just publishing a book, but look at it as your dream coming to life. The quality of content is the responsibility of the author. So, work hard to ensure the final result is of great quality. Take ownership of every aspect of your book, do your research, come up with great ideas and collaborate with your publisher during the publishing process, as well as, after the book has been published.

Please remember that there are many books coming out every single day. Good or bad, reviews of your book help a lot. So, seek genuine and honest reviews. Also, develop a thick skin for rejection, criticism, low response and lack of recognition. Believe in yourself and your dream. Perseverance and patience can pay dividends in the long run.
